Hello everyone, it’s been awhile since my last post, I went on vacation last week and I’ve also been getting ready for college, I finally move in this weekend. It seems like everything is happening so fast, I’m excited but also nervous. Anyways, today is my 18th birthday and I decided to do a post that would make me reflect on my year of being seventeen. Most of these are very personal and I decided to write this for me in my journal, however I thought it would be nice to share with you all, everything I learned this past year.

Being seventeen is easier

My thoughts at this moment in time, summed up nicely

Somewhat Damaged

61 days from today, I’ll wave (or more accurately, begrudgingly wave) my teenage years goodbye. I’ll be turning the age that most young adults embrace with open arms.

You’d consider turning eighteen a stepping stone towards becoming the person you want to be, right?. I’ll be of age to vote and have yet another year of this crazy thing we call life under my belt.

The big issue though, is that even with all of the blessings and perks that come with turning the big 1-8, I would rather stay seventeen. Crazy right?

It took me a while to figure out why I was scared for my birthday to roll around this year. In the past, I’ve always loved my birthday. The excitement, the pictures, the wishes, the presents. They gave me anxiety but I always looked forward to it, eagerly.
